Garnavillo - Died on Friday, Nov. 1, Mrs. Maria Pupke, wife of Andrew Pupke, of this place.

She was born May 15, 1815 in Spenge, Prussia. She emigrated to this country in 1852, to Jefferson Township, where her first husband, Mr. Droge died.

After a widowhood of 2 years she was married to Andrew Pupke, with whom she has since lived. She leaves behind her, beside her aged husband, who has been blind several years, three children of her first husband, and three of the second.

Her remains were buried in the old cemetery on Sunday, followed by a large concourse of large friends.

[St. Paul Lutheran Church records indicate she died Nov 17, 1889, buried Nov 19, 1889.]
