Frances McLane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.F. McLane, died at her home here in Elkader, Saturday, Jan. 9th, 1932.
Deceased was born March 3, 1913 in Strawberry Point, where she graduated from the high school of that place with the class of 1931. At the time of her death she was a student in the Elkader junior college.
Frances removed here with her parents September 1, 1931 and she is survived by her father.
A double funeral was held for Mrs. McLane and her daughter in the late home Monday afternoon after which the bodies were taken to the Methodist church in Strawberry Point for services. Interment was made in the Noble cemetery three and one-half miles east of Strawberry Point. The Rev. T.J. Elwick of Strawberry Point officiated.

(edited from a much longer news article) Short funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock, and then the bodies were taken to Strawberry Point, the former home of the McLanes, where services were held in the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Noble cemetery.
Six students of the Junior college at Elkader, where the McLane girl enrolled in September as a student, carried the casket holding her body. They were Burnell Stoops, Louis Wolf, Franck Asey, Carl Reiner, Gerald Poull and Melvin Jungblut.
