Funeral services for Louie F. McLane, 80, were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 18, at 1:30 from the Gill funeral chapel. The Rev. Robert Smith, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Noble cemetery.
Louie F. McLane was born Nov. 19, 1877, in Clayton County, the son of Jahn and Alice (Pugh) McLane. He was married to Betty Zea, who preceded him in death, as did his parents, one daughter and one sister.
He lived his entire life in this area, serving at one time as deputy sheriff for Clayton County, on the Strawberry Point police force, and more recently as the manager of the liquor store. He retired several years ago and lived alone in his home here.
He is survived by one brother, Amil, of Elkader, one step-son, Earl McGarvey of Mason City, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry Delsing and Mrs. Harry Gilbert, both of Redding, Calif.
