OBITUARY
VIOLA BERNS DEATH REPORTED

Services for Viola Elizabeth Berns, 96, Garnavillo, formerly of West Union were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garnavillo. Rev. Richard Gaul officiated with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, West Union.

Viola died Saturday, March 7, 1998 at her home in Garnavillo.

Viola was the grandmother of Cathy (Paul) Bemiss, West Union. Other survivors include two daughters: Antoinette Kann, Marquette, and Anita Schmeizer, Guttenberg; four sons, Alan, Winthrop; Bill Quasqueton; John, Dubuque; and Michael, Waterloo; and a sister, Bernice Scheffert, Garber; 28 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and many other relatives.
