Elkader- The body of Otto Hartman, 78, was brought to Elkader this afternoon following funeral services at the Holy Family Church at Mason City. He died at his family home there Friday.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Elkader.
Hartman was a former resident of Elkader and a carpenter by trade. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Meier, whom he married in 1900. He is survived by his second wife, the former Mrs. Mary Alitz.

Funeral services for Otto Hartman, 83, a former Elkader resident, were held at the Holy Family Catholic church in Mason City Monday morning at 9 o'clock with Msgr. Arthur J. Breen officiating. The body was returned here where committal services were held at St. Joseph's cemetery Monday afternoon. He died at his home in Mason City Thursday, July 14.
Mr. Hartman was born Sept. 27, 1865, on what is now the Ray Tieden farm southeast of Elkader and where he grew to manhood. Later he worked at the carpenter trade.
He was married to Miss Louise Meyer at Elkader. They later moved to Mason City where Mrs. Hartman died. In 1943 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Alitz, formerly of Elkader, who survives.
Pallbearers at the Elkader services were: George Meyer, Henry Meyer, Charles Meyer, Daniel Barton Sr., Daniel Barton Jr., and Paul Kirk.
