Elkader- Randy James Farmer, 48, of Grinnell, formerly of Elkader, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in Grinnell Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, by the Rev. Paul Peters, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, where a Scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. and where a parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; two sons, Paul and Andrew, both of Grinnell; his parents, William and Dorothy Mae Farmer of Strawberry Point; and three brothers, William Jr. and John, both of Strawberry Point, and Terry of Prairie du Chien, Wis.
