Farmersburg- Peter Damion Ruff, 29, of Coralville, formerly of the Farmersburg area, died Wednesday, July 6, 1994, in an auto accident five miles south of Riverside. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garnavillo, by the Rev. Richard Gaul. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Garnavillo. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo, where a wake service begins at 7:30 p.m.
Survivors include his mother, Estelle of Farmersburg; four brothers, Edmund III and wife Barbara of Farmersburg, John and his wife Becky, and Carl, both of Garnavillo, and Paul and wife Debra of Solon; four sisters, Ruth and husband Sarkis Koltookian of Cedar Falls, Gina and Husband Enoch Hanson of Elgin, Dana Lee of Frankfort, Ill., and Ellen and husband Paul Dinkels of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a special friend, Mary Jo Jackson of Coralville.
He was preceded in death by his father on Nov. 30, 1975.
Born May 15, 1965, in McGregor, a son of Edmund J. Jr. and Estelle Fangman Ruff, he graduated from Garnavillo High School in 1985, and Iowa State University. For the last four years he was employed by the ISU Southeast Research Farm. Before that he was in dairy farming with his brother. He was a member of Iowa City-Coralville Junior Chamber of Commerce. Peter loved the outdoors and enjoyed repairing farm equipment and horticulture projects.

Cedar Rapids Gazette, Fri., 8 July 1994. Second article.Riverside- A 29 year-old Coralville man died Wednesday in a head-on collision just south of Riverside in Washington County. Peter Ruff, whose address was not immediately available, was killed about 6:30 p.m. on Highway 218, the State Patrol said. The accident happened when another car tried to pass a semi-trailer tractor and hit Ruff's car head-on, troopers said. The driver of the second car, William Felter, 34, of Cedar Falls, was hospitalized at University Hospitals in Iowa City in serious condition.
