Elkader-- Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Hall will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St Joseph's church in Elkader with burial at St. Michael's Cemetery at Elkport. The Rev. Msgr. D. A. Gorman, pastor of St. Joseph's church, will officiate.
Mrs. Hall, 66, of Elkader, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Virgil Uriell, near Elkader, early Monday morning, where she had been the past six weeks.
Mrs. Hall was born March 12, 1889, on a farm near Garber, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meyer, early pioneer residents of that area. She was married Oct. 12, 1914 to Alfred Hall and the couple began housekeeping on a farm two miles southwest of Elkport which was their home their entire married life. Mr. Hall died Aug. 9, 1947. Mrs. Hall and her son, Elias, moved to Elkader in the fall of 1956 and have lived here since that time.
She is survived by two sons, Elias, Elkader; Clare, Chicago; and two daughters, Mrs. Uriell of Elkader and Mrs. Walter Szemkus of Garber. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Henry Finnegan of Colesburg, Mrs. Geneva Uriell of Garnavillo and Mrs. John Takes of Cedar Rapids.
The body lies in state at McTaggart Funeral Home in Elkader.
