Garnavillo-- Alvina M. Schmelzer, 82, died Tuesday morning at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital following a sudden illness.
Surviving are four daughters, Marie Dickman and Bernadette Stroschein, both of Garnavillo, Leonilla Moser of Elkader and Geraldine Kann of Guttenberg; three sons, Joseph of Guttenberg, Lorin of Monona and James of Garnavillo; two brothers, LaVern Felder of Davenport and Al Felder of Ripon, Wis.; three sisters, Evelyn Riniker of North Buena Vista, Leonette Bilderback of Ripon, Wis., and Anne Mae Lueck of Milwaukee, Wis.; 40 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Services:11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Tuecke-Allyn's, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, (Remainder of the sentence was cut off.).
