Elkader-- John F. Degenford, 72, died Tuesday night, Feb. 29, 2000, in Olathe, Kan., on his way home from Texas, after a sudden illness.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, by the Rev. Paul Peters. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, where a Scripture service begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; and a son, Jay of Edgewood.
