Strawberry Point-- John Everitt Alderson, 70, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Davis nursing home here following a long illness.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Gill chapel, the Rev. Wayne L. Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Ross cemetery northeast of Strawberry Point.

Mr. Alderson was born May 15, 1885 near Strawberry Point, the son of John and Suzanna Carpenter Alderson.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jessie B. Moyna, Elkader, and four brothers; Ray L., Miles S., Ellsworth and Merritt, all of Strawberry Point. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
