Kranert, Herman die 1944

KRANERT, KNEBELS, EICHENDORF

McGregor, Ia. - Herman Kranert, 74, prominent McGregor citizen, died Friday evening after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held here Sunday.

Mr. Kranert has been president of the McGregor school board for the past ten years, and for 40 years was in the U.S. postal service.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Roy, an architect in Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter, Mrs. John Knebels, an art teacher in the schools of Tenafly, N.J.; and a brother, August Kranert, McGregor shoe merchant. Judge W.L. Eichendorf, of the 13th Iowa Judicial District, is a nephew.
