Strawberry Point, Ia. - Mrs. Mary Piehl, 83, died Tuesday at the Lutheran Home for the Aged, after suffering a stroke a week ago. Mrs. Piehl had been in the Home here the past year.
As Mary Musselt, she was born near Littleport, Sept. 7, 1861. She was married June 20, 1885 to Charles Piehl. He died Nov. 17, 1942.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Walke, Guttenberg, Mrs. Henry Andrea, Oelwein, Mrs. W.L. Peick, Strawberry Point, Mrs. Le Roy Klink, Littleport, and Mrs. Charles Betbeze, Seford, Del.; a son Charles Piehl, of Missouri Valley, Ia.; 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Hope Lutheran Church in Littleport. Burial was there.
