Monona, Ia. - Funeral services for Henry C. Meyer, 81, who died at his home here Friday, after a lingering illness, were held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Monday afternoon. The Rev. R.C. Schlueter, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the City Cemetery.
Mr. Meyer, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meyer, was born on a farm in Wagner Township, Oct. 11, 1862, and had resided all his life in Clayton county.
He married Miss Augusta Henning, Feb. 28, 1893. The couple lived on a farm near Garnavillo, Ia., until 1904, when they moved to a farm in Farmersburg Township. They retired to Monona in 1919.
Surviving are two daughters, Edna and Carrie Meyer, of Monona; one brother, William Meyer, of Rockwell, Ia.; five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Tangeman of Haywarden, Canada, Miss Amelia Meyer and Mrs. James Foran, both of Elkader, Ia., Mrs. John Meyer, of Garnavillo, Ia., and Mrs. Mamie Drahn, of Monona.
