Mrs. Wilhelmina Taake - Mrs. Wilhelmina Taake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Polkow, was born March 13, 1867, in Werder by der Seehausen in the Alt Mark, Germany. Soon after her birth she was made a child of God by the Holy Sacrament of Baptism. When she was but four years old, her parents left Germany, sailing for America, finally settling in Clayton county. Here in Clayton county she made her with her parents. True to her church, when she had reached the age of 14, and after due instruction by her pastor, she was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Clayton Center, making there a promise of faithfulness to her church, a promise which she also kept.

On the farm with her parents, she grew to young womanhood, and later was joined in marriage to with Wm. Reinke. This union was blessed with one child, Mrs. George Radloff. In 1910, after the death of her first husband, she was again united in marriage to Wm. Taake. With him she lived on a farm in the neighborhood of Farmersburg. After they had spent several years here on the farm, they finally retired, to make their home in Farmersburg. About six years ago she began to suffer from heart trouble. From time to time the affliction gave her considerable trouble. Last September her condition grew more serious. In spite of her husband's care and attention, and relatives', and aside of many doctors consulted and the medical aid given, God did not see fit to relieve her condition, having other plans in mind, plans which not always understood by man, who does not fathom the mysteries of God.

Last Wednesday afternoon her condition grew more grave, Thursday evening she yet partook of the Holy Communion, which is our strength as we pass through the valley of the shadow of death. On the following morning at 5:50 she quietly passed away at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Her parents, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn: her devoted husband, Wm. Taake; her daughter, Mrs. George Radloff, both of Farmersburg; a brother, Henry Polkow, of Clayton Center; and a sister, Mrs. Louisa Glawe of St. Olaf; also her grandchildren, Juneaver, Donald, Virgil and Kenneth Radloff.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church of Farmersburg, and also a member of the Frauen Verein, an organization of this church. May she rest in peace and the eternal light shine.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral of Mrs. Wm. Taake Sunday afternoon were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. John Beal and Mrs. Earnest Klutzback and daughter of Cresco; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Taake, Mr. and Mrs. George Taake, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
