Mrs. Mary Althea Flenniken, 98 years old, died at 1:45 o'clock this morning in a Joplin nursing home, where she had lived for several years. She had been ill for three weeks.
Born November 27, 1860, in Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Flenniken had lived in Joplin for 12 years. She came here from Strawberry Point, Mo. She was the widow of John C. L. Flenniken, who died in 1940.
Surviving are a nephew, Harold Cragin, 616 Islington place; a grand-nephew and two grand-nieces.
Her body will be returned to Strawberry Point by the Thornhill-Dillon mortuary for funeral services and burial.

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary A. Flenniken, 97, were conducted at the Strawberry Point cemetery Tuesday afternoon, August 11. Mrs. Flenniken had lived at Joplin, Mo., for about 13 years and died in a convalescent home in that city.
Mrs. Flenniken was the widow of C. J. Flenniken who owned a jewelry store here for many years, served as president of one of the Strawberry Point banks and was a representative in the state legislature.
