Funeral services were held last Friday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. in Waterloo for Robert Aird, 67, son of Bill Aird, of Ion.
Robert Aird, has one son, Kevin. Died after a lingering illness. He had worked 38 years at Rath Packing in Waterloo, until it closed.
Bill Aird, turned 95 on the 24th of August. Bill had one son Alfred, now deceased.
Bill Aird's only surviving child, is daughter, Helen Marie (Tom) Martin, Shellsburg.
Bill Aird was driven to his son's funeral in Waterloo, by Marlyn Berg.
Postville Herald newspaper clipping, hand dated Oct. 9/10, 1990, from my mother's obituary collection.
This obituary is typed just the way the paper printed it. I think it should tie in with William Aird and Lillie (Fett) Aird. I am not related and have no further information.

"Bob" Aird, age 66, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Tuesday October 9, 1990 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral services were held Friday, October 12 at 2 p.m. at Linden United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa with full military rites conducted by Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion and Waterloo Post 1623 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Chapel of Memories-West Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Bob was born November 12, 1923 in Monona, Iowa Clayton County to William J. "Bill" and Lillian (Fett) Aird. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Geraldine "Gerri" Dart on August 31, 1946 in Preston, Minnesota. They were the parents of 2 sons. He had been employed by Rath Packing Company for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his brother Alfred W. Aird, and his son Lance Aird in 1961.
He is survived by his father, Bill Aird of Monona, Iowa, his wife, Gerri, a son Kevin Aird of Mount Pleasant, Iowa and his sister, Helen Martin of Shullsburg, Wisconsin.
