Mrs. Henry Nuehring 1857-1909
Mrs. Henry Nuehring died at her home on south First Street, from heart failure May 2nd, 1909, aged 52 years, 4 months, and 15 days. Deceased had been afflicted with heart trouble for several years. On sunday evening she ate supper with her family as usual. At eight o'clock she retired for the night and before nine o'clock was discovered to have passed away.
Julia Redemann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Redemann, deceased was born in Guttenberg March 16, 1857, and was married to Henry Nuehring January 9, 1877 at Ceres. They lived on a farm southwest of Guttenberg until a few years ago, when they moved to town. Deceased was a faithful wife and devoted mother. She leaves to mourn her departure a husband and eight children, Odelia of Dubuque, Mrs Martha Zapf and Ernest, of Elkport, Henry, Albert, Lucy, Lydia, and Martha, and mother, Mrs. Johanna Redemann and a sister Mrs. William Redemann, all of Guttenberg, and a sister Lucy Sieling, of McCracken, Kans.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in St. John's Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. J. Janzig. Interment was made in the City cemetery.
