Edgewood, Ia. - Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church for Mrs. George W. Ash, 83, whose death occurred at her home six miles northeast of here following a long illness. The rites were in charge of the Rev. W.L. Feller, pastor. Burial was in the Edgewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Ash was the former Barbara Whittmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wolfgang Whittmann. On July 4, 1876 she was married to George W. Ash. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in 1932, 10 days before Mr. Ash died.

They were the parents of six children. The three daughters have died. The three sons are: Ernest, Emory, and Clifford, all of this vicinity. There are also 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ash and Mrs. Anna Locknane, both of Los Angeles; and one brother, John Whittmann of Alhambra, Calif.

Mrs. Ash lived for almost 61 years on the farm where she and Mr. Ash moved one year after they were married.
