Guttenberg, Ia. - Ed Duwe, 60, died suddenly Thursday morning at his farm home west of here. It was reported that he had arisen about 5 o'clock in the morning and was building a fire in the stove when he was suddenly stricken. He had started a fire in one stove and was evidently preparing to start another when the attack came.

He was 60 years old and leaves his wife and two children, Richard and Violet.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home.

Guttenberg, Ia. - Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon for Ed Duwe, 60 who died suddenly Thursday at his farm home on Miners Creek, according to arrangements completed Saturday. Services will be held from the home at 2 o'clock and burial will be in the City Cemetery. The Rev. H.C. Coovert, pastor of St. Paul's United Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Mr. Duwe was born in Jefferson Township, Clayton County, on Nov. 10, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrick Duwe. He was married to Henrietta Rethwisch and to this union two children were born, Richard and Violet.

He is survived by his widow and children; three grandchildren; four brothers, William, Matt, Richard, and Chris, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Scholz and Mrs. George Wolter, all of Guttenberg.
