Ruth Amolia Rossbach of Monona, Iowa, died on Monday, January 3, 2005 at East Towne Care Center in Independence, Iowa following a brief illness. She was 95 years of age. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2005 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. Rev. Allen Bidne officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery in Monona. Leonard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ruth was born to Adam and Rosina (Jungmeyer) Jahreis in Russellville, Missouri. She was baptized on June 20, 1909 and confirmed on March 25, 1923, both at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lohman, Missouri. Ruth graduated from Russellville High School. She was united in marriage to Otto Rossbach on September 24, 1933 in Russellville, Missouri. They were the parents of six children. Ruth helped on the farm until retirement and worked at Wilke's Grocery Store in Monona for twelve years. She loved to quilt, do handwork and bake.

Surviving are her children. Lois and husband Richard Thedens of Rowley, Iowa, Don Rossbach of Canton, Ohio, JoAnn and husband Jon Kohl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kathleen Phillips of Fort Worth, Texas, Carolyn Kuhrke of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister, Anna Heidbreder of San Jose, California; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on July 3, 1974; one son, Otto Rossbach; one brother William Schmoeger and two sisters, Bertha Ott and Hulda Loesch.

Casket bearers were John Thedens, Mark Thedens, Dan Thedens, Tod Kohl, David Rossbach, and Layne Goldsberry.
