Bert R. Bruehahn Funeral Services
Funeral services for Bert Richard Bruehahn, 68, were held Tuesday afternoon, July 12, at 2 o'clock at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran church with Rev. R. E. Langholz officiating.
The body lay in state at the church Tuesday afternoon from 1 o'clock until the time of the services. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery at Monona.
Mr. Bruehahn died suddenly from a heart attack at his home, Saturday morning, July 9.
He was born the son of William and Alvena, nee Voelzke, Bruehahn, Feb. 10 1898, in Jefferson township, Allamakee county. He was baptized by Rev. Johannes Graening, April 3, 1898. He was confirmed March 16, 1913.
He received his education in the rural schools of his community.
He was married to Eliza Jane Gilbert at Elkader, Oct. 26, 1925. They lived on a farm northwest of Monona until 1938 when they moved to Monona with Mr. Bruehahn working as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, Edna Ball, and one brother, Alvin.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Merle (Betty Ann) Miller of Postville and Mrs. Ronald (Loretta Lou) Funk of Buffalo, Wyo.; one son, Gerald of Monona; one sister, Mrs. Selma Henning of Waukon; three brothers, George, Walter, and Paul of Monona; and eight grandchildren.
Music at the services was provided by Eugene Ferguson, soloist. Mrs. George Heins was the organist.
Pallbearers were: Helmer, Eugene Walter, and Allan Bruehahn, Robert and Harold Ball, Lyle, Gilbert, and Milton Hamann.
