Elgin Echo, Thursday, 9 July 1903.

The remains of Peter Holverson, an escapee from the asylum at Elkader, were found by parties on the banks of the Turkey River Sunday morning. The man escaped from the institution early in the spring and although a thorough search was made his whereabouts could not be ascertained. The discovery Sunday of a pile of human bones and some clothing, by which identification was made, was the first heard of him since his disappearance. It is thought that he in some way was caught by the high water and drowned.
