Deceased Name: Arnold K. Hefel

Arnold K. Hefel, 28, who resided with his sister, Barb Hefel, 820 Mount Loretta Ave., formerly of North Buena Vista, Iowa, died at 3:39 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on U.S. 52 North near 32nd Street in Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Buena Vista, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church hall.

Mr. Hefel formerly worked at Captive Plastics in Peosta, Iowa, and last worked at Grove Tool in Dubuque.

He was born on May 8, 1973, in Guttenberg, Iowa, son of Thomas L. and Geraldine M. (Riniker) Hefel.

Arnie was a 1991 graduate of Guttenberg High School. He was a member and vice president of the Midnight Riders Motorcycle Club. He also belonged to an East Dubuque Pool League. He enjoyed riding his Harley and hunting, and he also enjoyed carpentry projects.

Surviving are his parents, Thomas and Geraldine Hefel, of North Buena Vista; a sister, Barbara A. Hefel (Steve "Rudy" Ruden), of Dubuque; three brothers, Keith T. Hefel, of Marquette, Iowa, and Clyde L. (Lisa) Hefel and Alvin A. (Cathe) Hefel, both of North Buena Vista; a niece, Alyssa J. Hefel; his grandmother, Evelyn Riniker, of Guttenberg; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Florence Hefel and Aloysius Riniker.
