Edgewood, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. James McLane, 82, were held here Thursday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. Vernon Benson, pastor of the Congregational Church. Burial was in Strawberry Point. Mrs. McLane died Tuesday following a long illness.
As Mathilda Maxwell, she was born at Cox Creek and almost her entire life was spent there and in Strawberry Point. She was twice married, her first husband being A.D. Brandenburg, and to them five children were born. After his death in 1900, she married Mr. McLane in 1904. He died in 1938.
Surviving are five children: Mrs. A.W. Pilgrim of Edgewood, Mrs. A.C. Wright of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ada Easton of Strawberry Point, Grover Brandenburg of Byron, Ill., and James Brandenburg of Dubuque; 29 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
