Elgin Echo, Thursday, 31 December 1908.

Mrs. O. A. Ruroden, who has been sick for some time, died at her home east of this city Tuesday evening. The funeral will be held Saturday. Friends and relatives will gather at the home at 12:00 o'clock and the cortege will then go to the Gunder church where funeral services will be held.

NOTE: WPA records show a Marie Anderson Ruroden, 1845 - 1908, as buried in Marion cemetery. As is a O. A. Ruroden.

Clayton County Register, Thur., 07 Jan. 1908.

December 29, 1908, occurred the death of Mrs. Ole Ruroden at her home south of Gunder. She was a sufferer for three weeks with pneumonia. Deceased was 64 years old at the time of her death. She was the mother of ten children, three of whom preceded her in death. She was a patient sufferer until death releaved her. Miss Uriell, a nurse from Elkader, attended her during her last days. Besides her children she leaves a host of sorrowing relatives and friends to mourn. The funeral services were held Saturday at 1:00 o'clock at the Gunder church and interment made at the cemetery here, Rev. Arveson officiating.
