Mrs. Earl Dahlstrom (nee Ella Radloff) was born, August 15, 1885 in Farmersburg township. She was baptised, November 15, 1895 by Rev Seifert and was confirmed in the Lutheran church, March 20, 1910 by Rev. Pett.
On April 14, 1915 she was united in marriage to Earl Dahlstrom. To this union one son, Lomen was born who preceded his mother in death. This summer Mr. and Mrs. Dahlstrom built themselves a new home and moved into it on her birthday, August 15. It was only a short time she enjoyed her new home as she was called away by death after a stay of six weeks in it.
She was a quiet woman who had no desire to mix in social life, this was due to her poor health, as she had been ailing since childhood. But she was a faithful wife and mother who always made it pleasant for those around her.
September 28, as she took sick at the home of Mrs. Chas. Behrend and it seemed as if she would not recover from her sudden disposition, but in the evening she felt strong enough that her husband could take her home in their car. Altho there was no cause for alarm her mother-in-law, Mrs. Dahlstrom stayed with her all night. The next morning she seemed quite well, so that she urged her husband to go to work. At noon he came in for a few minutes to see how she was getting along. But again she assured him that she was quite well. But he had scarcely gone to work when he was called to come at once but too late. He did not find her alive, she had already passed away.
She died September 29, 1925, her age 30 years and six weeks. Her father preceded her in death, August 22, 1920. She helped care for her father and grandfather during their illness. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, and one son, Harding, her mother, Mrs. Radloff, three brothers, Louis, George and Elmer Radloff, three sisters, Mrs. Will Schultz, Mrs. J. Hagensick, and Mrs. Elmer Lenth all of Farmersburg besides many other relatives and friends.
We shall meet but we shall miss her, There will be one vacant chair; We shall linger to caress her, When we breathe our evening prayer.
