Elgin Echo, Thur., 5 Sept. 1918.
Word came Monday of two deaths from infantile paralysis at St. Olaf, Sunday night and Monday morning. The victims of the disease were Mrs. John E. Jacobson and Theodore Knudtson. Both were forty-five years of age and cases of infantile paralysis a this age are rare. The lady was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Mary Skarshoug.
Note: burial is in East Clermont cemetery. She is named as Julia Skarshoug in her husband's 1916 biography.
