Ronald Luke Grady
Ronald Luke Grady, 72, of Monona, Iowa died Friday, October 4, 2013 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, Iowa.
Ronald was born on July 22, 1941 to Francis and Loraine (Kricke) Grady in rural Monona, Watson, Iowa. Ron was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona, Iowa. He graduated from Monona High School in 1959.
On August 27, 1966, Ron was united in marriage with Sandy Kottman at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona, Iowa. Two children were born to this union, Ronda and Randy. Ron held several working positions and also worked for Norplex for many years until retirement. After retirement, he did cottage work for CVG. He enjoyed woodworking and watching the Hawkeyes.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandy; his children, Ronda (Randy) Glawe of Monona and Randy (Sarah) Grady of McGregor; 5 grandchildren, Ryan (Amber) Glawe, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Eric and Emi Grady; 5 siblings, Maureen Keenan of Waukon, Sharon Meisner of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Carol Drahn of Elma, Mary (Gordon) Krambeer of Hiawatha and Bill (Carol) Grady of Monona; sister-in-law, Ludy Grady of Monona and four grand-dogs, Roxxy, Ava, Chance and Crosby.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert Grady, James Grady and his twin brother, Donald Grady in childhood.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at the Leonard – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona, Iowa. Visitation will also be held one hour before mass time at the church on Tuesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monona, Iowa.
Burial will follow in the Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa. A luncheon and fellowship will follow at the church after the burial.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
