Elkader, Ia. - Thomas Donahue, 78, died at his home here at 7 o'clock Friday morning (July 14, 1944) after an illness of several months. The body is resting at the residence from where funeral services will be held to St. Joseph's Church at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Mr. Donahue was born in Ireland on Feb. 17, 1866. He came to this country when young and spent most of his life in Clayton County. He was married to Agnes Follon on May 9, 1905. He was a member of St. Joseph's parish, of the Rosary Society, and acted as secretary of the church for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Irene, at home, and two sisters, Miss Bridget Donahue and Mrs. Mary Malary, both of Elkader. Preceding him in death were his wife, who died in 1931, a sister and a brother.
The Haudenshield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
