Hawkeye, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Electa Lee, 78, who died suddenly of a heart attack in a grocery store here Thursday evening, were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church here, the Rev. G.W. Goodrick, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Hawkeye Cemetery.
As Electa Arnold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Arnold, she was born in Grant County, Wis., Aug 21, 1865. She was married to James Lee in Clayton County, Ia. Sept. 12, 1880. They lived for a time at Wood, Ia., coming to Fayette County in 1887, where they lived on a farm near Auburn. In 1896 they came to Hawkeye where they have since lived.
They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Sept. 12, 1941. Her husband, who preceded her in death in June, 1942, was employed here by the Milwaukee Railroad for 43 years.
She is survived by three sons, Newton and Frank, of Hawkeye, and Otho, of Fredericksburg; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Glen Bruce, of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. One brother, Steve Arnold, preceded her in death.
