Dubuque friends have been informed of the death of Ray Combs, county agent of Clayton County for 20 years, at his home in Ames, Ia., late Wednesday night. A number of Dubuquers and Dubuque County farmers are expected to attend the funeral services to be held at Ames Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.

He was appointed county agent in Clayton County in 1918 and served there until two years ago when, because of ill health, he resigned and moved to Ames. While in Clayton County, he frequently came to Dubuque to attend Dubuque County Farm Bureau activities and was widely known among the farmers of the county.

Surviving are his wife and two children, a son and daughter, at Ames; his mother, Buffalo Center; his brothers, Robert Combs, Cedar Rapids, Ia., former county agent of Delaware and Scott Counties, Clyde, New York, N.Y., former county agent of Fayette County and Dr. Richard Combs, St. Cloud, Minn.; and a sister living in Cedar Rapids.
