Elgin Echo, Thur., 2 February 1899. From the Elkader Register.
News was received at Elkader, says the Register, of the death of Tim Liddy. Tim lived at Ion, Allamakee County, and we understand that he was found dead in his stable Saturday morning, his death being caused by kicks from his horse. About five years ago Mr. Liddy married the widow Kuehl_s, whose first husband was killed seven years ago, being thrown from a wagon load of wood by a runaway team. The year previous to the killing of her husband, one of her sons, while handling a shot gun, accidently killed his sister eight years old. This makes the third violent death within eight years in one family.

NOTES:
The surname Kuehl_s is clear in the article except for the missing letter but may be totally in error as I can not find any other mentions of it in records. In the article the missing letter appears to be a u.
I can not find a burial record for a Tim Liddy in Allamakee or Clayton county. There are several Liddy burials in Clayton county including one for a Patrick Liddy whose date of death is shown as 04-12-1894, located in St. Joseph's - Elkader cemetery. Note that this article is credited as coming from the Elkader Register. More research is needed.
Submitter is not related.
