Calista Hines, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Hines, Mt. Carmel Road, died Sunday morning at 6:05 o'clock at Iowa City after an 18-day illness. Born in Dubuque on Jan. 10, 1930, she was a student at Central School. Surviving are her parents, five sisters, Vina, Elnora, Minnie, Molly, and Lavon, and a brother, Earnest, all of Dubuque, and Mrs. Minnie Hines, Waterloo, Ia. Burial will be in Cox Creek cemetery*, near Strawberry Point, Ia.

Funeral services for Calista Hines, 10, of Mount Carmel Road, who died at the State Hospital at Iowa City June 30, were held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Hoffmann Mortuary. The Rev. William C. Masters officiated at the services and also at the burial in Linwood Cemetery*.
Hymns were sung by Alberta Maiers and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lee, the accompaniment being provided by Mrs. Alois Hoffmann. Pallbearers were Harry Carner, Sylvan Hines, Velma Hines, and Floyd Hines, all relatives.

*Note: more than likely the Linwood cemetery is the correct burial place, but the transcriber can not confirm
