Slaughter, Clair died 1940

McGregor, Ia. - Clair Slaughter, 15, died in the McGregor Hospital Sunday night from infection following a knee injury received while swimming in the Mississippi River here a week ago. The youth lived only several hours after he was brought to the hospital here.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Slaughter, and seven brothers and sisters. His father is a commercial fisherman here. Funeral services will be held Wednesday.
