McGregor, Ia. - Funeral services will be held Thursday for Peter Hansen, 82, who died at his home here Tuesday afternoon following a several months' illness.

He was born near Sherrill's Mound in Dubuque County on March 13, 1858, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hansen, pioneer farmers of that section. When a young man, he came to Clayton County, farming near National. Later he farmed in the Sny Magill community. He married Sarah Barnhouse of Sny Magill 54 years ago and 18 years ago they retired and moved to McGregor.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Gilyeart of McGregor; and two sons, Elmer , on the home farm, and Charles of McGregor.
