Volga City, Ia. - Brief funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon at the Samp-Duff home for Asa Freeman, 68, who died Monday at his home in Minneapolis following a lingering illness. The Rev. Russell P. Nelson, pastor of the local Presbyterian Church, officiated and burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery beside his first wife, the former Julia Samp. Mr. Freeman was a former Volga City resident. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Golda Mae Sturdivant, both of Minneapolis; and one son, Roy of Kent, Ohio.
