Elgin Echo, Thursday, 18 September 1902.

Mrs. Halver Gisleson, aged 75 years, died at her home in Clayton county four miles east of Elgin Sunday, September 14. Deceased was born in Norway and removed to this country with her husband at an early date, having lived forty-five years in Clayton county. Mrs. Gisleson had been married fifty years. She was a noble hearted woman, universally beloved by all for her kind heart and generous disposition. A husband and five children survive her.

Funeral services were held in the Norwegian Lutheran church at Gunder Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Tanner officiating.

Mrs. Halvor Gisleson's first name was Gunhild. Burial is in the Marion Lutheran cemetery, Gunder.
