Clayton, Ia. - Funeral services for Samuel Peter Beckett, 68, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home here with burial in the Clayton Cemetery. Mr. Beckett died Tuesday at his home following a several months' illness.
He was born April 15, 1874, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Beckett, Clayton County pioneers. He was married Nov. 24, 1915, to Grace Chewning, who survives with four children: Harlan, with the U.S. Army at Orlando, Fla.; Allan and Adele, both of Rockford, Ill., and Lyda of Cotton, Calif.; two grandchildren; one brother, William of Clayton ; and one sister, Elizabeth of Glen Haven, Wis.
