Services for G. Radloff

Funeral services for George Radloff were held Monday, January 19, 1981, at 1:30 p.m., St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg with Pastor Karl E. Hansen officiating. Burial was in Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Radloff, Malin Schultz, Carlton Fuelling, Stephen Radloff, Carlys Moser, and David Skoog. Schultz’s Funeral Home was in charge of services.

George Carl Radloff, the son of Carl and Whilhemina (Klinkenberg) Radloff, was born April 15, 1890, in Read Township, Clayton County. He was confirmed in 1904 by Rev. Lindenberg at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center, and received his education in the area school.

On March 2, 1916 he was united in marriage to Laura Reinke, to this union four children were born. George attended music school in LaCrosse, taught music and violin, for 25 years he owned a grocery store in Farmersburg and served the community by being a council member for 30 years. He was able to play his violin on his 90th birthday.

He died Friday, January 16, 1981, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 90 years, 9 months, 1 day. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, who died in 1973; one brother Louis; and three sisters, Malida Schultz, Lucy Hagensick, and Ella Dahlstrom.

Surviving him are his daughter Mrs. Charles (Juneaver) McNichols, Farmersburg; three sons Donald of Uvalde, Texas, Virgil and Kenneth both of Farmersburg; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother Elmer of Farmersburg, and one sister Mrs. Elmer (Hilma) Lenth of Monona.
