Elgin Echo, Thursday, 29 November 1894.
Peter Holverson died at Brown's Valley, Minn., Nov. 19, 1894, and was buried in the Norwegian cemetery at Gunder, Clayton County, Monday, Nov. 25. Funeral services being conducted by Rev. Gjerstad and were attended by a large number of his friends who thus proved the esteem in which he was held when living.
Peter Holverson was born in Marion township, Clayton, Iowa, June 8, 1870, and was 24 years, 5 months and 11 days old. He was the son of John Holverson and grew to manhood on his father's farm where he was born, therefore he was well and favorably known throughout that neighborhood and in Elgin where he seemed almost one of our citizens. He was a man of much worth and had the respect and confidence of all. He was married about five years ago and was the father of three children, who with his wife, he leaves orphans and widow. In 1892 he removed to Brown's Valley, and operated a farm, where he died. We extend sympathy to the relatives.
