Postville Herald, Thursday, 19 October 1922.
Mary Ellen Palmer, child of Henry Palmer and his wife Florence (nee Schroeder), was born Aug. 24, 1922, and died Oct. 6, 1922, after only a few days illness. Left to mourn the early demise besides the grief stricken parents are two brothers- Clair, eight years of age, and Edward 8; also one sister, Nina, five years old. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. T. Finck, pastor of St. Paul's United Lutheran church, at 1:30 o'clock in the home Sunday afternoon and at two o'clock in Bethel church. Interment in the Bethel cemetery.- Guttenberg Press.
