Fred Gilbert “Gib” Hauschild, 101 years young, of Guttenberg, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.

Fred desired to have his body donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy program.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date with Inurnment at the Edgewood Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg.

Fred was born at home on March 4, 1912, in Dorchester, Ill., the son of Otto and Pearl Hauschild.
