Margaret Ann (Spohn) Hoefer, 87, of Guttenberg, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Guttenberg Care Center.
Visitation was Sunday, May 12, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church. Funeral services were Monday, May 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Guttenberg.
Margaret was born the daughter of Ferdinand and Emily (Tyrolt) Spohn July 28, 1925, in Kendall, Wis.
Margaret received her education locally and was a homemaker for many years. On Sept. 9, 1952, she was united in marriage with Mathias (Bill) Hoefer at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in LaCrosse, Wis. Margaret enjoyed looking through cookbooks to find new recipes to try – she was an excellent cook.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Housman of Glen Arbor, Mich., and Mary (John) Dordan of Milaca, Minn.; one son, William (Pam) Hoefer of Garnavillo; two sisters, Marie Brandau and Edna Spohn both of LaCrosse, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Stacy (Aaron) Schmitzer, Barton “Bart” Housman, Charlotte Dordan, Billy Hoefer, and Tony Hoefer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Rita Schaitel and son-in-law, Bart Housman.
