Mr. Dennis Liddy was called to Littleport, last week, by the sudden death of his good father. The Littleport correspondent in the Elkader Register said of his death: "Grandpa Liddy died Friday night quite suddenly and somewhat unexpectedly as he had been in his usual health that day and ate a hearty supper before retiring. He had been subject to heart trouble for several years past and to this cause is attributed his death. The funeral was held from the Catholic church Monday morning, with interment in the cemetery south of town. The concourse of friends which followed the old gentleman to his last resting place being one of the largest ever seen in this vicinity. His bereaved wife and children have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in the loss of this excellent husband and father.
