Funeral services for Floyd Montour were held Saturday, August 27, 1983 at Garden City United Methodist (White) Church, Monona, Iowa with Rev. Carroll Brown officiating. Pallbearers wre Vernis Henkes, Kenneth Suddendorf, Lavern Huckstadt, Wylo Wagner, Luther Heins and Carl Johanningmeier. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz’s Funeral Home was in charge of services.
Floyd Edward Montour, the son of Edward L. and Sophia (Wagner) Montour, was born November 6, 1913 in Wagner Township. He was baptized at the EUB church. He received his education at the Pleasant Hill School and graduated from Monona High School in 1932. During his life he was a trucker, worked at the saw mill and various other places. He died Wednesday, August 24, 1983 at the Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa having reached the age of 69 years, 9 months, 18 days.
Preceding him in death were his father and brother Edward R.
Surviving are his mother, Sophia and two brothers, Harvey of Monona and Donald of McGregor, nieces and nephews.
