Funeral services for Louis J. Kramer Sr., were held Saturday Dec. 5, 1964, at Du Bois Chapel. San
Gabriel, Calif., and interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. He had suffered a stroke November 17,
and was taken to the hospital where he died.

Born July 26, 1875, in Elkader, he was the son of Anton and Caroline Kramer. He is survived by
wife, Leola, and one son, Louis Jr., and three grandchildren of San Gabriel, and one brother, Ray
Kramer, Evanston, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Lou will be remembered by many as the first manager of the Opera House here. He also worked for his father in the meat market known as Kramer’s market and later managed the market himself. During his life spend in Elkader he was a great promoter for the town.

From Elkader he and his family moved to DeKalb, Ill., then to San Gabriel, Calif., where he spent
the remaining years of his life.
