In Loving Memory - Funeral services were held Friday, October 31, 1986, for Ewald Herman Thiese at Peace United Church of Christ, Rev. Gene A. Becker, officiating. Organist was Jean Welsh and soloist was Lenora Mae Anderson. Interment was in East Side Cemetery, Elkader, Iowa.
Ewald was born May 19, 1912 at Volga, Iowa to Henry and Margarathe (Vulquarthe) Thiese. He was raised and educated in this area attending rural schools.
On October 19, 1937 he was united in marriage to Mabel Glawe in Elkader by Rev. Kitterer. They farmed for eleven years, then Ewald worked for the Elkader Wire Plant for fourteen years. After his retirement from there he did some trucking part time. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Following a long illness, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1986 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader.
He leaves to survive his wife Mabel; a half brother Johnny Meyer of Vancouver, Canada; a half sister Mrs. Joe (Myrtle) Beauchamp of Taber, Alberta, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a half brother Frank Meyer.
Casket Bearers: Gene Glawe, Larry Ihde, Gerald Glawe, Roger Lembke, Dennis Glawe, Virgil Fette.
