McGregor, Ia. - Services for Severn Olson, 56, who died at his home in Ottumwa, Ia., Friday after a long illness, were held at the Pilkington funeral home McGregor, Monday afternoon. The Rev. O.U. Haugstal, pastor of the Norwegian Lutheran church, officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
He was born Dec. 25, 1888, at Marquette, Ia., the son of Loritz and Anne Olson, and lived at Marquette, and later at McGregor, until two years ago, when he moved to Ottumwa.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. C.A. Dennis and Mrs. J.W. De Valaar, both of Waterloo; one son, Francis Olson, of the Army Air Corps at Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepsons, L.J. Gutheil, Burbank, Calif., and H.J. Gutheil, Glens Falls, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nels Hokanson, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. H.A. Stillman, Bellingham, Wash.; and Mrs. Frank Ploog, Minneapolis; and one brother, Carl Olson, Flint, Mich.
