Anna Carr died at her home a few miles north of Strawberry Point last Saturday evening. She was in the 94th year of her age, and for several years past has been considered the oldest woman in Clayton County. Two children, twenty five grandchildren and eighteen great grand children survive her. Six of the Henry brothers, sons of the decendent's daughter, acted as pall bearers. The funeral services were held in the Cox Creek Catholic church, and the internment was in the cemetery nearby. Deceased was a good woman and her good example lives after her.
(Anna Carr was the wife of Michael Carr and the mother of Anna Marie Carr Henry - my great grandmother, and the mother of Ellen Carr McTaggart. In all of these cases I stick to the spelling and usage I find in the newspaper clippings. Note the use of decendent's above. I think that it was meant to be the deceased! MFO)
